Good barbecue is simple, delicious, and only mildly carcinogenic, and these guys nail it. Not only that, but they clearly understand the value of good service, and I aways appreciate that.

I kept meaning to write a review after each visit here, and I kept forgetting because I had just gorged myself on a ludicrous amount of delicious barbeque, and I was very sleepy.

After coming here about 10 times now, I will say their food, service, beers, and prices are all spectacular. I highly recommend the big old family meal as takeout for a whole weekend.

Use that white sauce, dammit. Use it all. On smoked turkey. You will not forget the experience.

I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could. Here's why:

Pros: we were seated quickly and attended to almost as soon as we sat down, the sampler, I forget what it's called, allows you to truly sample much of what's on the menu (pork belly, turkey, ribs, brisket, wings, these were pretty meaty, & pulled pork) for a decent price ($59) and feeds 4+ people, there were 3 of us and we ate off of it snacking for a couple days after we e noted our meal. My favorites were the brisket & ribs, they were tender and full of that smokey flavor. My son said the pork belly was good. I didn't taste it but it had a nice crusty edge (bark) and the meat and fat around it looked tender. The sweet tea was strong brewed and sweet w/o being overly sweet, I ordered the signature cocktail for the day but they were out of the vodka and made it w/ whiskey instead; luckily for them I like whiskey. They should've asked em first but at least the bartender delivered it and told me this and to let her know if I didn't like it; the corn pudding was different but good. It's like mac & cheese w/o elbow noodles w/ corn ‍. The baked beans w/ brisket were yummy. The baked potato salad my husband liked. Oh, the restaurant & bathroom were clean.

The cons: the turkey didn't have a smoke flavor and had a lemon taste to it, not my thing but I smacked off that over the couple of days because it could be eaten cold. The pulled or chopped pork didn't have any flavor to it whatsoever. The wings had seasoning but didn't have that smoked flavor you'd want from smoked wings. The greens were tasteless except for the flavor of vinegar. We only learned of the happy hour special overhearing another server tell the table in front of us about it. It's a pretty good deal and we would've gotten some things off of it had we learned about it in time. I asked our server about the bourbon chocolate pecan pie or the banana pudding. She recommended the pie so I got it. I was halfway through it before I tasted any chocolate in it.

I don't know that we'd return but they have some good things on the menu if you'd like to try them out. We were surprised to see a Swig & Swine in one of our favorite restaurant locations downtown, the old Low Country Bistro.  oh well. They've expanded so people must like it. ‍

You can bet your ass I'll be back!

Food: Great. Start off with the friend pickle spears, you won't be disappointed. The BBQ we got was juicy and flavorful

Service: Excellent. Kirby took real great care of us and walked us through the menu and explained all the various sauces on the table. She was also very pleasant and had a great sense of humor

    Bathrooms: Clean and well maintained

Decor: Fits the theme very well and puts you in the mood to eat

The best BBQ I have ever had. I went there with my husband and my parents. We ordered a family tray and it was lots of meat and definitely enough for 4 people. Unlike many other places, S&S' meat is not saucy but very flavorful. It was worth going for sure.
